Velella's Drift
An account of Velella's voyage from Seattle to New York via Panama, 2009-2011Itinerary
We intend to cruise the entire Pacific Coast of Central America and cross the Panama Canal in March. By June 1 we will have made passage through the Caribbean (West of Cuba) and made landfall North of Cape Hatteras on the US Atlantic Coast. However, we’re making no promises! If the weather would prefer that we hang out in the Sea of Cortez all winter, that’s what we’ll do. But here’s the intended itinerary.

Hi! Your sister directed us in your direction. We’ve bought a boat in La Paz and we’ll be arriving in the first week of Feb to start prepping her for a pacific crossing. It looks like you’ll have moved on from the Sea of Cortez by that stage… but I wanted to say hi anyway in case you ARE still around then and we can hook up for a drink and a chat about cruising
